An enthusiastic, experienced and flexible team player is currently being recruited by Cornerstone Café for the role of Catering Supervisor (Maternity Cover), with applications now being accepted.
The Café, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, is based within Cornerstone House Centre (at 1 Esk Walk, Cumbernauld, G67 1BZ) but operates as an independent entity. It aims to provide a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and to offer a place for the people of Cumbernauld to have a tea, coffee, bite to eat and a chat.
Open Monday to Saturday from 9.00am to 3.30pm, the Café offers breakfasts, tea, lunches and snacks, providing both a sit-in and takeaway service. Other services, including buffet provision and catering for events taking place within Cornerstone House Centre, are also provided by the Cafe.
The advertised position incorporates responsibility for planning, organising and supervising the catering operation within Cornerstone Café, as well as ensuring all relevant food hygiene, health, safety and legal regulations are adhered to.
Other key duties will involve undertaking food preparation, menu planning and cooking, ordering appropriate supplies and conducting stock checks where necessary. The successful candidate will also be required to supervise staff and volunteers to ensure smooth running of the Café, communicating effectively with all personnel with a view to maintain a productive working environment. Responsible to the Café Manager, the Catering Supervisor (Maternity Cover) will also ensure all financial documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.
For the vacancy, which is full-time and will cover a set period of maternity leave during 2020, the Café is seeking to recruit a self-starting individual who is able to work well under pressure. The appointee will also possess a relevant qualification or experience, and must have supervisory and administration competencies.
