Cornerstone House Centre will host new free weekly Bookbug and Stay and Play Sessions from March 2020, with Cumbernauld parents encouraged to come along for structured bonding time with their babies and young children.
Bookbug, which will take place every Thursday from 11.30am-11.55am commencing Thursday 5 March 2020, provides an opportunity for mums, dads and carers to enjoy sharing stories, songs and rhymes with their little ones in a safe, friendly and informal environment. Group leaders are trained to facilitate stories and songs in a fun and interactive way, targeted at children from birth to pre-school age.
Delivered as part of Cumbernauld Family Hub, Cornerstone House Centre is an affiliated partner of Scottish Book Trust and is experienced in supporting children and families to grow and positively develop through reading stories and singing songs together.
Stay and Play, also beginning on Thursday 5 March 2020, will precede Bookbug each week. This will run from 11.00am-11.30am, taking the form of informal drop-in Sessions where parents and guardians can support their babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children to play with various suitable and educational toys and games.
Both Bookbug and Stay and Play provide opportunities for families to meet each other and have a change of scene and activities. An open invitation is extended for parents and guardians to attend one or both of these Sessions each week.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone House Centre is also inviting families to come along to a free Creative Kids Session during the upcoming school holiday on Thursday 13 February 2020, from 10.30am-12.00noon. This is a unique arts and crafts session which encourages children and parents / caregivers to bond through getting creative together.
