Cornerstone House Centre has commenced delivery of free weekly Bookbug and Stay and Play Sessions for the new school term, with Cumbernauld parents encouraged to come along for structured bonding time with their babies and young children.
Bookbug, taking place every Thursday at Cornerstone House Centre from 11.30am-11.55am, provides an opportunity for mums, dads and carers to enjoy sharing stories, songs and rhymes with their little ones in a safe, friendly and informal environment. Group leaders are trained to facilitate stories and songs in a fun and interactive way, targeted at children from birth to pre-school age.
Delivered as part of Cumbernauld Family Hub, Cornerstone House Centre is an affiliated partner of Scottish Book Trust and experienced in supporting children and families to grow and positively develop through reading stories and singing songs together.
Stay and Play precedes Bookbug each Thursday, running from 11.00am-11.30am, taking the form of informal drop-in Sessions where parents and guardians can support their babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children to play with various suitable and educational toys and games.
The latest round of delivery began on Thursday 29 August 2019 and will run each week until Thursday 19 December 2019, with the exception of school holidays. Both Bookbug and Stay and Play provide opportunities for families to meet each other and have a change of scene and activities.
An open invitation is extended for parents and guardians to attend one or both of these Sessions each week. For further information or to book places, please contact Cornerstone House Centre on 01236 739220 or email familyhub@cornerstone-house.org.uk.
